What I value most about ReachingU is that it is continually built on the heart-and-soul effort and passion of the volunteers, the directors and a small highly qualified and devoted staff. It is a great group of people working together to help Uruguay.<\/p>\n
In 2008, I heard Fernanda Guliak talk about ReachingU at a friend\u2019s house, as we used to live in the same town in the suburbs of New York. I got really hooked on the idea of a small organization working tirelessly to raise funds to support causes focused on lifting children out of poverty. I went to a first meeting and since then I\u2019ve always been involved. I fell in love with the organization\u2019s mission and its people.<\/p>\n
I love seeing that all the work done year after year by all the volunteers and staff has a substantial impact in the projects we support. We help children in vulnerable situations not drop out of school, while encouraging their self-improvement.<\/p>\n
I strongly believe that education is the best tool and gift we can give a child to get out of poverty. The work we support creates a ripple effect as that child who finishes high school and starts a career, will most likely help his own children get a good education and that will continue successively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
