FUNDACIÓN REACHINGU ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF PAULA MOSERA AS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Fundación ReachingU’s Board of Directors is proud to announce the appointment of Ms. Paula Mosera as its new Executive Director. Ms. Mosera will succeed Ms. Fernanda Guliak, who is retiring from ReachingU after 17 years.

Paula takes on this new role with extensive experience and a great track record leading a series of projects and programs within non-profit and multilateral organizations. She has founded and been an advisor to several NGOs and a mentor to social entrepreneurs across Latin America. Paula is a Professor of Social Innovation at Universidad ORT Uruguay, and before joining Fundación ReachingU, she was Head of Experimentation at UNDP Uruguay’s Accelerator Lab.

Paula holds a BSc in Business Administration and Finance from Universidad ORT Uruguay, a Postgraduate Degree in “Economy and Management for Inclusion” from UDELAR Uruguay, and an MSc in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the London School of Economics, where she was designated Chevening Scholar and awarded a full scholarship by the United Kingdom Foreign & Commonwealth Office.

Paula will be responsible for leading Fundación ReachingU with the support of the organization’s staff, its board of directors and a broad group of volunteers. She will oversee the planning and execution of ReachingU’s strategy with the goal of expanding its contributions to and impact on Uruguay’s education ecosystem.

“I am deeply honored by the opportunity to lead an organization with ReachingU’s track record and impact. In my new role, I expect to leverage my experience in social innovation, in both the private sector and international organizations, to continue driving towards educational excellence and promoting innovative solutions that meet the needs of our children and youth,” stated Paula upon assuming her new role.

Fernanda Guliak announced her desire to retire from ReachingU this past June. She joined the organization 17 years ago as a volunteer, subsequently taking responsibility for fundraising, which led to her appointment as Executive Director in 2013. Under her stewardship, Fundación ReachingU experienced accelerated growth and established itself as a prominent NGO in Uruguay and as one of the main sources of non-governmental funding for educational programs in the country.

“Today, I look ahead with my heart full of optimism and gratitude for all the experiences lived, the lessons learned, and the goals achieved. I close this chapter with absolute certainty that the solid foundations we have built together at ReachingU will serve as a basis for an even brighter future,” Fernanda said in her farewell letter.

ReachingU’s Board of Directors is profoundly grateful for Fernanda’s tireless work and dedication, her love for the organization, and wishes her great success in her future endeavors.
