Growing Together – Escuelas Vinculadas

"Growing Together" is a program that strengthens socio-emotional skills. It is implemented in public kindergartens and primary schools in Uruguay. A team of health and education professionals works in the schools, in coordination with their teachers. The program takes place within the framework of daily learning, and even integrated into the curriculum and the institutional project, generating a support network for educational actions. The proposal stimulates the development of self-knowledge based on emotional management, self-regulation and creativity in problem solving, all skills that benefit the academic, social and emotional life of students. Students also are guided to raise their self-esteem, improving their self-concept and increasing their confidence to know, care for and respect themselves and others.
