Executed by:

Universidad Tecnológica del Uruguay

Granted amount:

USD 40,000

Beneficiaries:

30

Area:

Training and re-skilling
Universidad Tecnológica (Technological University - UTEC) and Biko Academy carry out an innovative teacher training workshop in molecular biology. This workshop adopts a hybrid approach, which combines face-to-face with online activities, articulately forming a comprehensive learning environment. A Digital educational environment (called EDU) will be used, offering videos, readings, evaluations and a 360° simulation of a molecular biology lab, among other resources. Through simulation, participants will be able to explore the various techniques and processes used in the field of molecular biology, while they will also have access to videos. Face-to-face instances give participants the opportunity to put what they have learned into practice in a real laboratory environment. Guided by experts in molecular biology, teachers conduct hands-on experiments, applying their newly acquired knowledge and developing practical skills through hands-on experience. Once the teachers successfully complete the workshop and acquire the essential competencies in molecular biology, they will become facilitators of activities aimed at students from public institutions.

The amount indicated as granted to each program is the one approved by Fundación ReachingU Board of Directors. The funds that each organization receives may differ due to adjustments made to the programs or variations in the exchange rate.
