Music in Support of Educational Processes – ANEP and SODRE

Children and adolescents from Casavalle, a highly vulnerable area in Montevideo, receive musical training and participate in workshops to form an orchestra and choirs. The “Music in Support of Educational Processes” project involves 15 public educational institutions in the neighborhood, including primary schools, high schools, and technical education centers (DGETP-UTU). Music serves as a social integrator, providing opportunities and safeguarding students’ educational paths. This project is an initiative of the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP), the Uruguayan System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras and Choirs, and the “One Child, One Instrument” program of SODRE. In addition to the ReachingU Foundation, it receives support from CAF, UNESCO, UNICEF, and OEI, which is also responsible for its execution and administration.
