The "Educational Bridges'' program works to improve the educational levels and job opportunities of adolescents in detention centers, thanks to the collaboration between the Civil Association Enseña Uruguay and the National Institute for Adolescent Social Inclusion (INISA). It focuses on providing positive educational experiences through weekly meetings with groups of up to 5 teenagers, each accompanied by a team of 3 teachers. According to the INISA census in 2022, 70% of young people in detention centers have an incomplete basic cycle (9th grade) and 25% have incomplete primary education. In addition, 40% have a background in other INISA centers and most experienced school failure. The personalized approach of this project includes the contextualization of learning in areas such as literacy and mathematics, as well as the strengthening of learning and socio-emotional skills essential for reintegration. These skills include motivation, self-efficacy, self-regulation, perseverance and eagerness to learn. "Educational Bridges'' strives to provide these adolescents with the necessary tools for a successful reintegration into society, the educational system, and eventually the job market.
