PROGRAM

Educational Experiences
Project-Based Learning to incorporate learning tools in students of different ages, educational and social contexts – School of Veterinary Medicine (UdelaR)

Executed by:

School of Veterinary Medicine - Universidad de la República

Granted amount:

USD 19,900

Beneficiaries:

280

Area:

Innovation
This project aims to stimulate students from vulnerable backgrounds in science learning in a practical way through Project-Based Learning. This tool allows both children and teens to develop the 4C skills (critical thinking, creative thinking, communicating, and collaborating), which will be beneficial in the development of their student life, allowing them to acquire learning strategies that allow them to adapt to a changing labor market. The disengagement of students from the education system may be due to a lack of personal interest and motivation, in addition to basic socio-cultural inequalities. Therefore, offering new strategies based on problem-solving together with university students can be engaging and prevent them from dropping out. It will also bring students from elementary and secondary schools closer to a university setting.

The amount indicated as granted to each program is the one approved by Fundación ReachingU Board of Directors. The funds that each organization receives may differ due to adjustments made to the programs or variations in the exchange rate.
